Billy Joe Shaver

Yesterday, I drove home from Washington, DC down I-81 in the driving rains of Ernesto for 6 hours. I was listening to NPR on several different stations along the way, when I came upon Fresh Air from WHYY.  I woke up thinking about Billy Joe Shaver, the guest on the show. His song "Try and Try Again" which he played at the end of the interview was awesome! SO I HAVE to go find his new album The Real Deal now. Anyhoo, follow this link and listen to this interview. It's GREAT!

Fresh Air --- this got me to thinkin' about how beautiful today is after the tropical storm past by. The air is so clean and cool. All the negative ions have gone into the eye of that storm. I love that imagery-- all the negative stuff has been sucked up.

Tonight we are going to see Bruce Cockburn in Durham, NC with our good friends, Frank and Jill Newsome. But before we go, we are going by Duke Memorial Methodist Church where Frank and Jill work, to see their new coffee house in the church basement called, Soul Café. They are going to start having Christian music there and Randy is going to try out the new Bose surround sound system to see what it sounds like. I bet with all the negative ions gone, Randy and Bruce will sound great today.
